circumcise
All Muslim boy are required to get his tip off. I did mine when I was eleven. It is not the best experience but for sure it is very memorable one.
The question raised even before Kimi was born. Should or shouldn't we circumcise Kimi.
I always pro Kimi being circumcised early while he was young and know nothing about pain. There are many of reason for it and one of them is hygine. A circumcised penis does not collect any white stuff underneath the foreskin like an intact penis does. At least there is one less area to wash in the shower. I bet you most uncircumcised boy (and men) don't even bother to wash this area and it totally unhygienic.
Ajan on the other hand, against the idea. She can't bear the pain that young Kimi will bear. She event cried when the staff in Pusrawi make a tiny cut at Kimi's heel to get his blood for testing. Another reason is Kimi won't be having his Khatan kenduri later. It is not such a big deal but Ajan want Kimi to have his 'a step to manhood' ceremony.
At one time, I'm agree with my wife not to cut Kimi's tip off. The fact that there is still not many baby being circumsized these day make me feel OK with the decision. At least, when he grow up, he will be the same with most of his peers.
But that decision has changed. We were advised by Kimi's pediatrician to circumcise him. The reason, there are many bacteria in Kimi's urine and it doesn't sound good. So we made appointment with Dr Zul and Kimi will get his tip off tomorow!

maid
Ajan will start working in 6 weeks time and we need to find someone to look after Kimi. Of course there is Mak at home while we're out at work but we don't want to bother her that much. Plus, Bibik is Kak Ngah's maid (even though she's staying with us) and she suppose to look after Kak Ngah' 5 kids.
Few months back, Mak told us that she knows someone that could jaga Kimi during the day and she live just 2 blocks away. The plan is to send Kimi to the caretaker place every morning and bring him back home after work. We both aggreed with the plan. But I guess we really need a maid, after all, Bibik is Kak Ngah's and she should stay and look after Kak Ngah's house. So we decided to get our own maid.
We've looked around and man, the cost of getting a maid is damn expensive, it can cost you up to 7k for an agent to get you a maid. And of course, there is no guarantee that the maid they give you will suit you wel.. There so many bad stories these days. Lat month alone, 3 of our neighbor's maid ran away.
The best option is to stay away from maid agency, but everyone keep talking that it is not an easy job. You may take few days off from office to settle the documents and all. But the sweet thing is you can handpick the maid and of course the cost is way cheaper, you could save al least half the price tag.
But how could we start? my officemate suggested that I go to Lombok or Tanjung Balai or Batam or Medan to hunt the maid my self. But Ajan is not hugely fond of the idea. We asked Bibik to find someone trustworty and want to work with us. I still actively seeking other alternative, should you know how, please let me know.

name
I only own 20% of my name. L is the only part totally belong to me. My parents decided to combine their name to make mine. So AK come from Akhpah, my baba and MA is from my ma, Mariam. Not that I want to complaint, I love my name though (and dont call me L, it sound too girly)
As for Kimi case, the name is 100% his. When we deciding the name, we're not combining my name AK(Akmal) my wife's IM (Izniza Mustafa) and left Kimi with HI (even though HI is better than L). We just pick the name because it sound very nice and have wonderful meaning.

Yup, Kimi were expected to be delivered on 11th Nov, at least that what the "baby scanner machine" told us every time we went to Pusrawi for Ajan monthly pre-natal checkup. The machine calculate Kimi size and make its prediction.
Such a great number right 11/11.
But here it goes, Kimi was born 2 weeks early. Now he's 2 week, hansome and healty young lad.

Many people complaints of their "all night long crying" newborn baby especially the first few week. But for our Kimi, he has been sleeping through the night almost everyday. Great he is ain't a crybaby (yet?).
The first night Kimi at home was the houghest, he's crying all night. Maybe it is a new environment for him, need some time to adjust.
These days he has reliably slept for about 2-3 hours before wake-up asking for a drink. Meaning, we need to wake up 2-3 times during our night sleep to attend him . No more deep sleep for us , but not much to complain about.
He start to make noise once he's wet. I normally do all the "dirty work". Cleaning him, change the nappy, swaddle him tight and make sure he's comfortable and ready for his drink time. Then I passed Kimi to his mom (usually I continue with my sleep while Kimi and Mommy spend time together)

The morning started, as I was woke-up by Ajan. She was in pain, the one she describe feel like the period pain just that it happened every 6 minutes. I knew today was the day and I've told her to be ready as today might be the big day for her. Mak told us that it maybe just a false alarm as we're not expecting till at least couple more weeks. I asked Ajan to take a rest, MC and I off to work.
Ajan called me at 10 to let me know she had been having light contractions most of the morning, but they were so light she wasn't sure if it was the beginning of labor or not. As advised by Kak Ngah, Ajan and Mak off to Pusrawi, thanks to Bang Ngah for the driving and Shafiq for the kancil (Ajan can't stop complaining on the lack of AC in the car though :P).
At that very moment, Ajan still not believes that she is going to deliver that day. Despite, I'm telling her to get ready since there is possibility of early labor. Once arrived at the hospital, she called during the CTG session to inform me that the baby heartbeat is too low and the doctor needs to do more checkups. I keep telling her to calm down and convincing everything going to be okay.
I rushed to the surau to pray for my wife and boy well-being. The same prayer I cited everyday in the past 8 months; for the safety of my wife and my boy, for my wife to deliver with ease and the least pain, for my boy to born perfect and healthy.
As soon as I finished my prayer, I got another called from Ajan again. “I’m 4cm open, you better be at the hospital now!” “Alhamdulillah, today is the day”…

We (mommy, 1.0 and me) had our first family shoot yesterday. The shoot were done by Uncle Min of pretty peektures. I went straight from the office to pickup mommy at jalan duta before heading straight to USJ for the shoot out. It's been a while since our last picture taken, so quite blur2 la jugak. It's was very tiring, but it was full of fun. We'll sure to come back for another photo shoot few months from now. Wait ya 1.0..
Fhew... After several week planning to balik kampung Yong Peng finally we made it. Seriously now it very hard for me to find time to balik kampung. Ye la, every weekend full with classes. But on Friday, we applied cuti purposely to balik kampung. Kampung was fun as always. Less headache, no traffic jam and cleaner air. It used to be much more cleaner back then though.
We arrived at Yong Peng very late in the Friday midnight. We planned to go straight after works but since Ajan's roadtax is not ready yet, we had to started our journey late. Baby are doing great.. not disturbing mommy at all that night, leaving her peacefully asleep all the way from KL to YP.
On Friday morning, we went to meet Atuk Mak at Ucu's. It's been a while since we meet her. She's healthy as always. When we arrived, she we're preparing the bubur lambuk. We spend bout two hour with her chit chatting.. Abisla 1 bown bubur lambuk and pate full of kuih apams.
We planned to go get Ajan some new blouses but we're distracted by a huge banner on one of the baby store on the way to the mall "PROMOSI HARI-HARI". As the ads said, the items in the store are very cheap. Almost half the price in KL. Jackpot for us and the baby.

Most Scorpios are winners. The main thing they have to worry about is their attitudes, which make up their mind powers and can either make or break them. When they are negative about something or someone, or critical of themselves, they can tend to get in their own way.
Go Go Winner Boy!
p/s: The attitude part is quite worrying. Hope you turn out well son!

This will be my last dinner with Shell. The dinner was fine, as expected. 1.0 not really fond of the loud music. He's kicking every now and then. Sian both of mommy and him. Another thing, mommy don't like the food though. We ended up went to OTK and bought Char Kuea Teaw on our way home.
Alhamdullilah! We finally could see the face of the 1.0. And everything is sempurna. 1.0 surely got the charm of his ayahanda and the sweetness of his mommy. It's 20 months 'young' now and the due date is still 12 Nov. We could also see the 'thingy', now we know your gender baby. Both mommy and the baby are healthy. Thank god. Mommy is so excited that she gave me some present that day? Hmmm thanks mommy! =P

First we would to thanks Shell for the fully paid trip. Everything about the trip was awesome! Glad that she love the place so much. This is my second trip to the resort and it never disappoint me.
We had a wonderful visit to this beautiful, exotic resort. The large wooden structure is somewhat like a kampung house, but in huge size. The property is landscaped with bougainvilla, ginger, plumeria, and many other flowers and trees. There is an adjacent jungle area, which is part of Club Med property and where the monkeys and gibbons live. We need to keep our windows shut the whole time to prevent those lively bunch.
This place is packed with tons of exciting activities from trapeze (the only one in Malaysia) to sailing to archery to yoga and the best of all for free (of course it actually included in the room bill). However, we opted to skip all those and prefer lying down by the beach the whole day.
Food? Awesome! Lunch and dinners at the main restaurant consisted of Chinese, Indian, Korean, Malay, Japanese, French, and Italian. You name it and it all there. And it all tastes good. Ajan finally got her favorite cheese pizza here. She took it every time!

Huyeh, since the pregnancy, this is the first outing. She is doing better these days. Less puke, more appetite! In fact this is the first time she finished her popcorn. Well done! :)
About the movie, nothing much to shout at. Great movie, packed with fights and chases, but then so were the Tom and Jerry. I guess, it's the worst Steven Spielberg popcorn flick after War of the World.
We plan to go for shopping and find her few nice closthes but she's to tired for that. Sian baby... Nonetheless, we had a great time.

Ma became 52 on 15th May and Mak became 62 on 18th May. Starting from this year we'll celebrating 2 birthdays mid-May every year. Wohoo!
So on Saturday, Ajan and me (and the baby of course) traveled back to Yong Peng to celebrate Ma birthday. Its suppose to be a surprise actually. I fetched Ina and Adib as well, and Afiq cames straight after his work, so we had everyone for the dinner. It's just a small dinner. I asked Baba to buy cakes and mee goreng and I went to KFC to buy some chicken. Happy Birthday Ma (soon will be atuk Ma)!
The morning after, we rush back to KL to prepare for Mak birthday lunch at Kak Ngah place. We had lot of food (of course to cater the battalion of Mak's cucus) from spaghetti to dadih. Heheh Ajan and Kak Ngah plan the lunch to be a surprise. But somehow Bang Chik had leaked it out to Mak. So Mak pun pi la prepare Buah Melaka while we waiting her to come to Kak Ngah's. Hence semuaorang pun terpaksa la tahan lapar sat. Hehe. Happy Birthday Mak!

Mommy,
Just a note from me to you, to keep you up to date.
On how my life is changing while we both await.
Please don't mind my kick, my legs and arms just need to move a bit.
I don't know what you look like yet, but I already know your voice.
I like when you sing and talk to me while I'm in this place.
These nine months are so special when we are joined as one.
Please be patience, it won't be long until we are together.
Our family is growing with many special days to come.
But the most special one, the one I'm looking forward to, is the day you hole me in your arms.
But for now until I'm there, I just wanted you to know I love you mom!
Love,
baby..

So the doctor says she have to take it easy now when she's pregnant. But on top of that, she still need to do her exercise. But now she's pregnant, no more jogging for her. Instead I brought her to our favorite jogging spot just to take a brisk walk.
It is recommended that pregnant women should walk at least 30 minutes a day. But being busy 'parent' we don't have time for that ( :p excuse.. excuse..). Nevertheless we plan to go for a walk in the part at least twice a week.
We plan to go to the Lake Garden, but after jumped into the car, we realize that it's too far. Plus it's already nine-thirty and it's getting warmer out there. So, Lake Titiwangsa it is. Our usual jogging spot.
Every morning, especially on weekend this place will be pack with health- conscious people. You can see parents and kids walking and jogging, group of old Chinese ladies doing thai-chi on one corner and another group dancing to a pop song on the other. I think going to this place, make you feel healthy.
I read that walking is the best for her for exercise. It is the best way of being and feeling active: it stimulates equally the entire organism, it doesn’t require any special equipment and it is a sure method that doesn’t harm the fetus. Its advantage is that it increases her effort resistance and she will have more strength at the birth. Ameen.
Just hope we can continue doing this consistently every weekend!

We just back from Pusrawi for her 1st check-up there. The place was nice except for the running-around and crying kids everywhere. I know she hate this. We arrived at the hospital quite late. And we've to park at the next door, Wisma Sejarah. They should make the sign to the parking lot more visible I guess.
After the registration, I left her to send Mak to the dentist to collect her denture. I went for 1 hour. Kesian her have to wait there all alone =(. I thought that I cannot make it, but fortunately, I arrived back at Pusrawi just in-time. She was just next in-line to see the doctor.
The doctor, Dr Hatta is quite a charm. More friendly and make us fell welcomed compared to previous Dato Dr Roopi. We're having a nice Q&A session and he answered all our questions. He even made small joke here and there. We're asked him for a medicine to ease her with the morning sickness but he refuse to give any. he said for the good of the baby better avoid any drug now. And he said it'll be over in two weeks.
After all the talking, comes the best part. Seeing the baby. This is the 3rd time we see the baby. The 1st two time it's kinda small. More like a bean with heart beat. But now the baby is grown up. We can even see the hand. Oh we love watching the baby 'jumping' around!
All and all it was a very pleasant visit. She shed some tears. Happy one of course!

Pity her. Today is the worst. I never see her suffered this much. Even I knew that her tolerance to pain is quite low, I know that this one is a killer.
It started just buy normal throwing up. A bit 'wek wek'. But latter she's screaming painfully. I was standing by her next to the sink top for about an hour. What I can do is just giving her plain hot waters. I fact she finished the whole thermos.
We figured that the keledek that we ate earlier is the culprit. Mak said that she should avoid food that 'banyak angin'. Last week, she's vomiting blood after eating Gulai Nangka. So the same reason I bet. The thing is, if she knows that keledek have 'banyak angin', why shouldn't she told us earlier.
There must be a medicine to help her get though all this. This weekend, we'll planning to go to Pusrawi for her 1st check-up there.
And I'm hoping this is going to get better soon!!

This morning my wife texting me to inform that Kak Murni has safely delivered her baby girl by c-section in Pusat Perubatan Naluri Wangsa Maju. Both the mom and baby are healthy. After work, I went to pickup my wife from office, at first we decided to go straight to the hospital until she find out that she's hungry and need to be feed first. So we took a quick transit at home.
During dinner, my wife had some after thought. She felt she'll be not comfortable being in the maternity hospital just yet. She afraid if the whole hospital environment will scared her. Lucky Kak Ngah comfort her saying that the place is totally fine and there is nothing to scared.
After dinner, we went to the hospital. She was sleeping the whole way. I noticed, that she'll easily doze off these days. After missing few turns and couple of u-turn we arrived at the hospital.
We met Bangcik, I can see he's totally tired and will fell a sleep in no time if I gave him pillow. My wife go inside Kak Murni's room to see her. I was outside with Bangcik. I hope she's not scared seeing Kak Murni in her condition at that moment.
Bangcik brought us to visit the baby in the special room. That is the first time we saw newborn for quit sometime. She's so cute in her red wrapper. She look like "Ulat Bulu" said my wife. See look very excited seeing the baby, wait until we see ours!
Oh, we brought a Disney's pink baby suit complete with glove and hat for her.

Pregnancy
I was tired from work that day she has a very bad one as well. After dinner with the rest of the family, I went upstairs to our living room to watch the Buletin Utama. Then came my wife with a white and blue stick with a plus sign on it. Ya, it's positive that she's pregnant. For a few minute I'm out of word, total silence. Like I said earlier I don't know how to react. Being a father is totally not on my todo list. YET.
Yes all the symptoms of pregnancy have started. But my wife always afraid to take the pregnancy test. Every time I suggested to take the test she always replied back "tamauuu".
So anyway, the test has been done, the stick, ahem, wetted, and the plus sign had appeared. It's not that I don't want it to be 'plus', please don't misunderstand me. It's just that, well, I'm a man of the family, a leader of our small family of course . I'm not sure if I'm ready for all the responsibilities yet. Well I know it'll grow on me and I'll eventually could manage it well.
Next step, get myself fully loaded with the information my wife need. About the pregnancy, about the baby, about her, about us, about everything.
Welcome to the fatherhood journey!
the positive blue stick
I'm fairly certain she is pregnant, as all the symptoms seem to be developing as she always complaining about tiredness, bloated stomach and the missing period. Plus, my wife always telling me that she think she's pregnant, the motherly instinct seem to be starting i guess.Yes all the symptoms of pregnancy have started. Next step, get myself fully loaded with the information my wife need. About the pregnancy, about the baby, about her, about us, about everything.
Welcome to the fatherhood journey!
Hujambo (with thick Swahili accent, and it means hello)! So this is my first attempt at blogging after sometime so bear with me. My wife has just break the news and I'm not sure how to reach. I thought that it might be hard for both of us but so far so good. Despite the mix feeling that we have about the pregnancy, I decided to set up a blog for the hell of it to see how it'll go along.
